Introduction to polyethylene wax

Polyethylene wax is used as a mold release agent in plastics processing to prevent the molten polymer from sticking to the surfaces of molds and dies. It forms a thin, protective layer that allows the molded product to be easily removed, reducing friction and enhancing the flow of the material during extrusion, injection molding, and calendaring processes.

In coatings and inks, polyethylene wax acts as a matting agent, providing a matte or satin finish to the coated surface. It also improves scratch resistance and provides anti-blocking properties, preventing surfaces from sticking together when in contact.

Polyethylene wax is utilized in adhesive tape production as a slip and antiblocking agent. It helps reduce the friction between the adhesive layers, allowing for smooth unwinding and preventing the tape from sticking to itself during storage or transportation.
